Final Reflections and Acknowledgements from the ATRIP Congress 2025 in Copenhagen

The 2025 ATRIP Congress, held at the University of Copenhagen, marked the largest gathering in the Association’s history and concluded with a deep sense of gratitude and accomplishment. Over several days of rich academic exchange, meaningful dialogue, and professional connection, the Congress reaffirmed ATRIP’s commitment to advancing global scholarship in intellectual property law.

We extend our sincere thanks to Professor Jens Schovsbo, Professor Timo Minssen, Dean Professor Jacob Graff Nielsen and the entire organizing team from the Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen, who made this event such a success.

We are also grateful to our institutional partners:

  • Edward Elgar Publishing, represented by Luke Adams, for its ongoing collaboration in publishing the ATRIP Congress volumes.
  • IIC – International Review of Intellectual Property and Competition Law, for providing a platform to the winners of ATRIP’s Essay Competition for Young Scholars.

We were honored by the presence of distinguished guests:

  • Dr. Edward Kwakwa, Assistant Director General, World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)
  • Michael Caine, Vice-President, International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys (FICPI)

Finally, our deepest thanks go to the more than 200 speakers, chairs, rapporteurs, and participants from around the world who contributed their expertise, ideas, and enthusiasm and made the Congress truly memorable.

Below are some highlights and photos from the Congress. Additional photos will be posted on the ATRIP website shortly.

We now look ahead to our next meeting in São Paulo, Brazil, hosted by the University of São Paulo, from 28 June to 1 July 2026. We look forward to welcoming the global IP community once again for what promises to be another exceptional Congress.
